The motto of the Michelle McLean Children Trust is, `If you can imagine it, you can do it.` If you study your life and the lives of those around you, you will see just how true this statement is. Everyone of us finds ourselves in a position as a result of decisions we have made, and those decisions have been based on what we believed was possible. As a child, the place where you find yourself has been handed to you by circumstance. But what you become depends on the decisions you make, and these decisions are limited only by the possibilities you imagine. So go on, no matter how old you are or what your dream, dare to take a chance and reach for the sky!

If the work of the MMCT is underpinned by the belief that everything is possible, then everything possible must be done for our children to provide a strong foundation for the next generation of leaders. The interest of our children must be the first priority at all levels: at home, at school, and at the highest level of decision-making. There is much work to be done, both in Namibia and in the rest of the world, and the mission of the Trust is to continue to make an effective long-term contribution.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the patron of the Michelle McLean Children Trust, His Excellency Dr Sam Nujoma, founding president of the Republic of Namibia, for his continued support and kindness and for sharing with us his love for the children of Namibia.

Michelle and her family

The dynamic staff of the MMCT is to be commended for their dedication and commitment. The loyal trustees, Mrs Conny Maritz, Mr Nic Kruger, and Mrs Selma Shejavali have contributed valuable ideas and guidance and have invested much of their precious time in the Trust.

The MMCT has been involved in many diverse projects over the years and the Michelle McLean Primary School is one we can be especially proud of. The motivation for building a school was to create a long-term, sustainable project that generations of children could benefit from. Thank you to the principal, Mrs Mazeingo and to the teachers for inspiring our more than 1000 learners.

The Trust is and always will be grateful to the various government ministries and ministers who have supported it, as well as the mayors and municipalities, unions, the diplomatic corps, the business sector, individuals and especially the media. Without their assistance and unfailing support the MMCT would not be the success it is today.

Remember that achieving your dream also requires hard work, determination, courage, and, most important, taking responsibility for your actions. Thank those who supported you, forgive those who thought you`d never make it, and help those whom you see struggling towards their own goal. This is the power of love, which heals and inspires.
